PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Tensas Basin Levee District hereby gives notice of its intent to offer for sale the office property located at 505 District Drive, Monroe, Louisiana 71202, together with any associated improvements. The property is generally described as the Tensas Basin Levee District office property in Monroe, Ouachita Parish, Louisiana. The legal description of the property is as follows:

Office/Warehouse Building with Surplus Land 505 District Drive, Monroe, Ouachita Parish, Louisiana. Located along the north side of District Drive. Parcel ID #4568 4.5 acres beg 22 ft so of SE corner of NE ¼ of NE 4¼ Section 24, Township 17 North, Range 3 East, West 834.56 ft, Northwest 245.77 ft, East 940.01 ft, so 222 ft to beginning. +/- 11,530 Sq Ft – Office/Warehouse. The proposed sale is subject to approval by the Board of Commissioners and to applicable Louisiana law.

The proposed consideration for the sale of the property is $476,000.00; the minimum acceptable bid shall be $476,000.00, as may be authorized by the District. The appraised value of the property is $476,000.00. The proposed contract, together with the terms and conditions of the proposed sale, is on file and available for public inspection at the Tensas Basin Levee District office, 505 District Drive, Monroe, Louisiana 71202, during normal business hours.

About the Levee District

The Tensas Basin Levee District was created by an Act of the Legislature in 1884 and is the oldest levee district in the state. The district includes all or part of eight parishes: Caldwell, Catahoula, Franklin, LaSalle, Morehouse, Ouachita, Richland and West Carroll.

The Governing Board consists of eleven commissioners, one in each parish, an additional at-large member and two additional commissioners in Ouachita Parish.

Tensas Basin Levee District personnel operate and maintain flood control facilities, to include levees, pump stations and major drainage channels.
